
For Matthias, node.energy is the second start-up in the energy sector: in 2010, he founded TeraJoule Energy GmbH, which later became Clean Energy Sourcing AG (CLENS). At CLENS, he was responsible for setting up and operating one of Germany's first virtual power plants with an output of over 500 megawatts until 2013.
Afterwards he was also responsible for business development for the entire group and was managing director of two subsidiaries with a turnover of over 150 million euros p.a. (direct marketing of EEG systems and software services for virtual power plants).
After selling his shares at the end of 2015, Matthias left the company in August 2016 and founded node.energy GmbH.
Matthias is a business graduate and completed his studies at the University of Cologne, the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB).

Before founding node.energy, Lars learned how to combine IT and the energy industry at Clean Energy Sourcing AG and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. Lars studied Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) and Energy Science and Engineering (M.Sc.) at TU Darmstadt and the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Jörg is an absolute professional in software development. He has over 15 years of experience and has already tackled many complex development projects. Among other things, before joining node.energy, he was responsible for the continuous integration infrastructure for SAP HANA. Jörg Dip studied. -Information technology engineer.

Michael comes to node.energy as an energy expert: after studying business administration, Michael spent 24 years with Mannheim energy supplier MVV Energie AG with various commercial functions and helped build up the energy services business.
From April 2010 to September 2011, he was responsible for sales and finance in the Kofler Energies Group as division manager.
From October 2011 to January 2017, as managing director of Bosch Energy and Building Solutions GmbH in Stuttgart, he built up the entire energy service company. From February 2017 to December 2019, he was responsible as managing director of Kübler HeizWerk GmbH and carried out the rental business there.

Robert joined the company in 2024 and brings extensive experience in building and scaling finance organizations. Prior to node.energy, Robert led the global finance team at Forto and guided the company from its early stages through a period of significant growth.
Prior to that, he worked in investment banking and corporate restructuring at firms such as Kuna & Co., Ziems & Partner, and PwC, where he focused on M&A deals and complex restructuring projects. Robert holds degrees in finance and economics from the University of Münster and IE University. In his free time, he is a passionate free diver and finds peace and inspiration in the depths of the ocean.

Lucia has been passionate about evaluating the economic, technical and regulatory aspects of renewable energy business models since 2017. At node.energy, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the dynamic world of renewable energy, she is committed to developing innovative solutions that not only save time but also increase the efficiency and productivity of our customers. Lucia completed her master's degree in renewable energy and energy efficiency at the University of Kassel.

With his broad expertise, Marcel is a sought-after speaker at conferences and meetings and author of several specialist energy publications. Before joining node.energy, Marcel was involved in setting up the Clean Energy Sourcing AG virtual power plant together with Matthias Karger from 2011 to 2013. As a product and sales manager, he was then responsible for the growth of CLENS' virtual power plant and direct marketing portfolio. Marcel studied energy economics at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

Maria completed her master's degree in business psychology (M. Sc.) and led the digital division of a media company for several years, including as a member of the management board. She then moved to a Freiburg start-up in the energy sector as Head of HR and has now been strengthening our management team since December 2021. She is particularly interested in the selection of suitable new colleagues who are a good fit for the existing teams, as well as the development of each individual's personal skills. Therese is an experienced product manager with a deep understanding of the energy industry and a mathematical background. Since joining the energy industry at Fraunhofer IOSB-AST in 2014, she has gained valuable experience in modeling and analyzing energy systems. During her almost 4 years as a product manager for the district energy management solution at Ampeers Energy GmbH, she has shown that she is passionate about promoting sustainable energy supply solutions, integrating heterogeneous interfaces and building a SaaS product from the ground up.

Barbara has been serving various clients throughout her professional life. Most recently, she worked in a digital start-up in the media industry, where she was able to gain a lot of experience onboarding customers and subsequent support during operational work with the software.
Switching to node.energy and thus to another industry was a very conscious step for Barbara. In doing so, she wants to make her contribution to the energy revolution and make it as easy as possible for node.energy customers.
In 2016, Maria completed her studies at DHBW Mosbach in the subject of Business Taxation, Corporate Accounting and Finance. She then worked as a team leader at a tax office in Würzburg until February 2022 for advising, preparing tax returns and annual financial statements and financial accounting for numerous clients.
Maria has been responsible for Finance — Accounting for us since March 2022. Maria also successfully completed the tax advisor exam in March 2022 and is therefore well prepared for emerging tax issues.

He has over 12 years of experience in online marketing, working both in-house and at agencies. Simon holds a PhD in literature from the University of Freiburg.
